Learn to Row Camps
The Charleston City Rowing Club is hosting its 2018 Youth Learn to Row camp in August and we are excited to welcome new recruits! Whether you’ve tried rowing before, just need a refresher, or are a first-time rower, we are sure that you will enjoy this fun and exciting camp! (NOTE: Youth Learn to Row is only open to high school rowers of at least 14 years of age. Special consideration will be made for rising 7th and 8th graders wishing to be a coxswain. *This is the only youth program offered until summer 2019, so if you are at all interested in joining the team this year, you must complete this camp.
The 2018 Youth Learn to Row program will take place on the following dates:
August 6-9 & 13-16
8:30am – 11:30am
Brittlebank Park (on Lockwood Blvd. in downtown Charleston)
This is a single program that takes place over 2 weeks (4 days/week).
From Day 1, you will learn the parts of the boat and the basic technique of the rowing stroke, and by the final day you will be rowing swiftly out on the Ashley River.
