Learn to Row

6466163_G-2Rowing is a fast-growing, team sport for women and men that builds strength, endurance and confidence.

We will be learning sweep rowing techniques (rowing with one oar) in eights and fours. Open to all Charleston residents on Saturday, February 25th & Sunday, February 26th from 10am-4pm at BrittleBank Park on Lockwood Drive. Three (3) subsequent “water days” will be offered as coaching schedules permit around regattas. All participants MUST be able to tread water and/or swim and feel comfortable on the water.

INEXPERIENCED ROWERS

New rowers must attend both the land training day on Saturday & going out on the water on Sunday, plus 3 water days before they can join CCRC.

MOSQUITO FLEET ROWERS (or rowers with previous experience)

If you have rowed before, but it has been a while since you have been on the water, or have participated in the local mosquito fleet rows, you must attend a minimum of 1 land day and 2 water days.

Meet at Brittlebank Park. Wear shorts, tee shirt, tennis shoes and socks. Bring water and a snack or lunch.

We look forward to rowing with you!
